Scott Griffin is the President and Founder of Griffco Design/Build Inc. (Griffco).  Griffco is a planning, engineering and construction firm that specializes in the design and construction of refrigerated and frozen food distribution facilities and commercial/industrial facilities.

Prior to founding GRIFFCO, Scott spent 15 years working exclusively with firms that specialized in the design and construction of food distribution facilities. Over the past fifteen years Scott was responsible for the planning, design and construction of over 5,000,000 SF of food distribution facilities including cold storage warehouse facilities for Americold, Versacold, Atlas Cold Storage, US Cold Storage and Nordic Cold Storage.

Additionally, Scott has worked with a number of major grocery chains in the planning and design of dry, perishables and frozen distribution facilities. Other experience includes work for manufacturing warehouses and foodservice companies.

Springfield Grocer Company, Springfield, MO - Planning, design and construction of a 40,000 SF freezer, converting its existing freezer to additional cooler space and expanding its dry grocery warehouse by 13,000 SF.

Tip Top Poultry, Rockmart, GA - Planning, engineering and construction of  three (3) new blast cells in its existing freezer, adding 20,000 SF of new -10°F freezer, new 40°F and 65°F coolers, and 14,000 SF of new dry warehouse and maintenance area.

Twelve Baskets, Atlanta, GA - Planning, design and construction of a 17,000 SF of new freezer and cool dock to its existing facility.

American Sales Company (Division of Ahold, Inc.), Buffalo, NY- Material handling engineering, building design and construction of 285,000 SF mechanized health and beauty care and general merchandise (HBC/GM) expansion.

Americold Logistics, Albertville, AL - Planning, design and construction of 90,000 SF freezer expansion including seven (7) blast cells.

• McDonough, GA - Planning, design and construction of 86,000 SF -10° Freezer and 35 degree dock expansion.
• Mobile, AL - Planning, design and construction of 35,000 SF -10° Freezer expansion with deep pile foundation system.

Carolina Cold Storage, Tar Heel, NC - Planning, design and construction of 110,000 SF -10° F  freezer expansion including eleven (11) blast cells and new engine room.

Frozen Foods Express, Lithonia, GA - Site location and evaluation, planning, design and construction of 58,000 SF Greenfield Distribution Center.  Included -10° freezer/cooler, shipping docks and associates operations offices.

Giant Food Stores, Inc., Carlisle, PA - Planning, design and construction of 167,000 SF Perishables warehouse expansion and renovation. Included produce, meat, dairy/deli and seafood.

The Kroger Co., Shelbyville, IN - Planning, design and construction of 285,000 SF Greenfield perishable and frozen distribution facility.                     

Maines Paper and Foodservice, Conklin, NY - Planning, design and construction of 100,000 SF perishables and frozen expansion.

New Orleans Cold Storage, LaPorte, TX - Planning, estimating and preliminary design for 65,000 SF freezer expansion with eight (8) new blast cells. Completed extensive analysis of CO2 refrigeration system and feasibility of Intec Tunnel Blast system.

Piggly Wiggly Carolina, Charleston, SC - Planning, design and construction of 593,000 SF Greenfield dry grocery and frozen foods facility.

Randall’s Food Markets, Houston, TX - Planning, design and construction of 495,000 SF dry grocery and freezer expansion.

• Gouldsboro, PA - Planning, design and construction of 345,000 SF Greenfield freezer facility including approximately 250,000 SF of -10°F/20°F frozen food/ice cream storage, 50,000 SF of refrigerated dock and 45,000 SF of support area.

• La Porte, TX - Planning, design and construction of 87,000 SF expansion of existing cold storage distribution center consisting of 60,000 SF of -10°F Freezer, five new blast cells, 35°F Cooler and Dock, and associated support spaces.
