Griffco recently joined Brookshire Grocery Company (BGC) to celebrate the ribbon cutting of its cold storage and distribution expansion in Tyler, Texas.
As Brookshire’s design/build partner, Griffco delivered an 81,400 SF, 53-foot-tall expansion designed to strengthen the company’s growing cold chain and distribution operations throughout the region. The project expands the capabilities of Brookshire’s existing campus while also allowing room for future operational growth.
The expansion includes a new freezer addition, truck dock, maintenance area and office, two-story office/welfare space, and the conversion of existing freezer space into cooler space to provide increased flexibility across the facility’s refrigerated operations.
The impact of this expansion is significant for Brookshire’s operations, including a nearly 50% increase in frozen storage capacity and a 21% increase in refrigerated space. The project also enhances operational efficiency and resilience through improved workflows and infrastructure designed to support the company’s continued growth.
Designed with future growth in mind, the expansion positions Brookshire to better serve its stores and customers while supporting the company’s long-term distribution strategy.
Brookshire Grocery Company is a regional grocer headquartered in Tyler, just two hours east of Dallas, with more than 200 stores across Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma under five trusted brands: Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, Fresh by Brookshire’s, Spring Market, and Reasor’s.
The ribbon cutting marked a major milestone for both teams and celebrated the strong partnership that helped bring the project from concept to completion.
